Why Offshore in The Philippines

The Philippines is one of the best locations to offshore your business. We say that with confidence due to the fast and steady bloom of the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry in the country. In 2000, the country reportedly only had four existing call centres. But by 2016, the country had an estimated 800 call centres, with the whole industry contributing 10% to the country’s GDP.

In 2007, the National Outsourcing Association (NOA) of the United Kingdom awarded the Philippines as the Best Offshoring Destination of the Year.

English language proficient country

With the country’s history and geographic location, it should come as no surprise that the country has a large pool of English-speaking college graduates. Its educated youth, as expected, is highly proficient in the English language, both written and spoken, especially with the globalisation of the country as a result of the Internet and smartphone boom.

Very supportive government

The Philippines has exceeded its 27.5 billion AUD revenue target for the BPO industry in 2015, filing an almost 28.9 billion AUD revenue and employing over 1.1 million people. It is estimated by the World Bank that, by 2020, BPO revenues in the Philippines could surpass 65.6 billion AUD while providing more than 2.6 million jobs!

With BPO’s contribution to the country’s GDP, the Philippine government has been actively investing in and supporting the industry. The government has set up an environment where the quality of the learning institutions and the telecommunications network facilities and infrastructures meet global standards.

Geographically strategic location

The Philippines is a strategic place because it is located almost midway between USA, Australia and Europe.

Cultural empathy

The Philippines is home to a culturally globalised population who can empathise with international clients. It is also home to one of the friendliest cultures in the world, providing top-quality customer service to its mostly Western clients.
